ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE FOR PD

INCREASING OUR CAPACITY

In addition to recently completing two intensive trainings for Alexander Technique for PD, a certificate program in pain science, and Sharon Salzberg's Caregiver's Course, Cindi brings 35 years of experience in teaching and movement training (including Pilates, Gyrotonic, and the Alexander Technique for over 13 years) to serve the PD community.

Grateful for how the Alexander work has helped her more skillfully navigate her own family health challenges, Cindi has deep empathy for the process of coping with neurodegenerative conditions. She is honored to learn together with the PD community, supporting greater capacity, resilience, and embodied dignity.

Cindi offers private Alexander lessons for PD at the Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn.

TESTIMONIAL

"As a person diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease 20+ years ago I am constantly attempting to engage in activities that will slow the progression of PD in conjunction with medications.

I have been exercising, stretching, staying active mentally and physically.  I have been taking classes as often as I can that provide me with exercise I enjoy and with socialization.

I have been participating in Alexander Technique sessions with Cindi Kim designed to address my PD issues. We are working on breathing, body alignment/organization, balance, stretching, walking, staying present, and movement.  I am provided with Alexander Technique activities that I can practice at home to reinforce what is learned in the sessions. All with positive results.  I have noticed improvement in my balance, gait, and movement in general.  The breathing exercises are great for stress reduction and centering.

Cindi is a very positive and encouraging soul who makes the sessions comfortable and relaxed.  I leave the sessions with a positive feeling both physically and mentally.

To sum up, I highly recommend the Alexander Technique sessions." - A person living with PD
